Hi, i'm Italian. I have to know if it's true that..?
I am a musician. I’m a singer but also I play guitar and piano.
Unfortunately the Italians too closed minded for someone who, like me, is passionate about music genres so far from the "Mediterranean culture".
Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country, Blues, Jazz and many other..
Alive in italy with this kind of music is IMPOSSIBILE.
There’s no respect ! the musician is cheap like work, and groups that make their songs rarely manage to emerge. Who’s makes it generally decreases (as the rest of you) to do the usual shit all the same songs, all with an electronic ground and a text with a bleak and clearly aimed at people with low IQs.
Now I have 18 years and I know that to live music, the music i love, I can not stay in Italy. My only regret is not to know English perfectly, wich unfortunately limited me strongly when i wrote my songs.
(How i wish i were born in England or in Usa : | )
But I need to know that going to America (or Canada) i will have at least a possibility..
There are my friends in Italy, for example, who are my age, they put some of their songs on myspace and have been contacted by a Canadian "label" =)
I must know whether, beyond the usual fools rappers and the usual four "cows" that dancing nude on MTV there’s also a place for those who know the music and who wants play it for live.
I began to dream of listening to artists who have made history by 60 to 90 years, from John Denver to Bon Jovi.
Music is realy my life. I hope for your reply and sorry for grammatical errors!
Thanks to all..
Andrea!
There’s room for everyone in music. I’ve been a working musician for 20 years, and make an excellent living. Being a "star" isn’t all there is; I play clubs and bars several nights a week, I play guitar in recording sessions and as a backup musician for touring bands. I’ve played in commercials, soundtracks for television shows, and a couple of movies. Form me, the music is what it’s about, not fame, and I said, I make a good living playing music I really care about…Good luck to you!

while the music scene as a whole in the country is much larger and open, the music INDUSTRY, as far as recording and producing records, is much less so. the entire US music industry is going bankrupt, and are only willing to sign records that they are certain will sell and have good concert tours, which unfortunatly is heavily rap and pop stuff.
However, if you know where to look, you can allways find a place to play your music, even if its only in bars.

Hey, I’m italian and succeeded in show business and worked the studios. We have great artists like Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Michel Buble, Alanis Morrisette etc..
Follow your dreams. If that is what you want, their is room for everyone. It can’t be worse than Enricque Iglasias who made tons of hit in the US and sings in Spanish. Canada is Multi-cultural especially, Montreal, Quebec & toronto ontario.
