what the hell is kfm?
I’m really interested in martial arts and I was just watching the Dark Knight. The fighting that they used was called KFM and I want to what that is exactly and what it’s similar to. And if it would be a nice and useful martial art to learn for Ultimate fighting. All I know is that it was supposedly originated in Spain by gypsies to protect themselves on the streets. Thanks for any responses:)
ha ha J that was funny:)
Keysi Fighting Method. The gypsies use it still to this day to protect people from stealing their tears
J | Feb 03, 2010
Keysi Fighting Method…another over marketed and hyped up BS system that offers nothing origional or even practical in real life fighting situations. It has been laughed at in the real martial arts community now for many years. It is a joke and don’t waste your time with it.

IMDB rating: 7.50 Plot: Jackie Brown is the name of a flight attendant who gets caught smuggling her boss’ gun money on the airline she works for. Luckily for her, the Fed Ray Nicolet and the LA Cop Mark Dargus decide to team up in order to arrest the arms dealer she works for, whose name they don’t even know. Here’s when she has to choose one way: tell Nicolet and Dargus about Ordell Robbie (the arms dealer) and get her freedom -except that if Ordell suspects you’re talking about him, you’re dead- or keep her mouth shut and do some time. That’s when she meets Max Cherry -her bail bondsman-, a late fifties, recently separated, burnt-out man, who falls in love with her. Then Jackie comes up with a plan to play the Feds off against Ordell and the guys he works with -Louis Gara and Melanie Ralston, among others- and walk off with their money. But she needs Max’s help. No one is going to stand in the way of his million dollar payoff… |

Getting autographs and such any stories or tips?
As a total religious devotee to music and cheesy 80s films I love to collect autographs for the shows I see and movies I love. Now while eBay and the mail are fine, how do I really know the celeb signed it? I wasn’t there was I? So for me it has to be in person, for the most part. I’m still going to keep my Arnie and Jean Marsh autos from Conan The Destroyer on the wall even if they may be fake.
So I was wondering if ya’ll had stories about getting autographs you would like to share. Whose autograph do you have that you relish? Any you are dying to get? Do you have any tips for getting an autograph be it getting backstage or even in the mail or however you work it that would be great.
I think my favorite autograph is jazz superstar Keiko Matsui, because it was my first. I sent her this sappy fan letter and she sent me a postcard inviting me to a show she had coming up. It was before she got big. It was my first meeting with "fame" and gave me the confidence to approach other musicians I like and instilled in a me a greater respect for musicians as people no "gods/celebs" and a greater passion for music.
So here are my tips for getting autographs:
1: Depending on the muscian, DANCE! Musicians love it when people dance to their music no matter how awkward you may look or feel. If you are one of the few with guts to dance they will remember you. I been to several shows where the musicians insulted the audience for remaining seated most notably Oliver Mutukudzi who played a slow improvisational mess for a half hour just because he was mad people were not dancing and said, "We can play this all night long". Jazz legend Dee Dee Bridgewater invited me backstage because of enthusiastic dancing. I danced onstage with Haitian diva Emeline Michel too.
2: Depending on the venue have patience and wait after the show is over. Often times the band will leave through front or go to the bar for drinks or when the crowd has died down you ask can an employee to take whatever you want signed to the person (more often than not if you are really calm and nice they will actually take you backstage to get it signed yourself).
4. Don’t head straight for the ringleader every time. Start with the drummer or bass player. Often times they do get the same love and so you are more likely to get something signed by them and they can take it to their leader for you or bring you to their leader.
3: No gifts, as a general rule, artists/celebs have no to place to put them or carry them about on the spot like that. And really it is just more clutter. I make an exception for an artist/celeb you are a die hard fan only if the gift is hand made personally by you (e.g. fan art or the like) but nothing huge keep it about the size of one volume of an encyclopedia. Yes you can mail it… but again how will you know if they really got it.
As for autographs I’m dying to have: Evelyn Glennie, Loreena McKennit, The rest of The Police ( 1 down two to go), The cast of Ghostbusters, The cast of Big Trouble In Little China, & the cast of Back To The Future, The cast of Kill Bill/Jackie Brown. Gary Larsen, Bill Watterson
That’s a cool story bro

Horror books (Stephen King)?
Ok so I love Stephen King books, but so far i have only read ‘Carrie’, ‘Misery’ and ‘The girl who loved Tom Gordon’ (I am half way through Cujo).
Three questions, What is your favourite out of:
Cujo
Misery
The girl who loved Tom Gordon
Carrie
What is your favourite Stephen King book EVER and why?
And finally, why don’t I get actually scared by these books? I love them but don’t get scared. I got a little freaked out by parts in ‘The girl who loved Tom Gordon’ but that’s about it. I didn’t like ‘Carrie’ at all. Cujo is great so far
Sorry for the long question! x
Stephen Kings
The Dark Tower series.
1. The Gunslinger
2. Drawing of the Three
3. The Wastelands
4. Wizard and Glass
5. Wolves of Calla
6. Song of Susannah
7. The Dark Tower.
One great series in seven novels.
Of all of Stephen Kings writings.
He considers this series his "Opus" in writing. <}:-})
Private <}:-}) | Jan 24, 2010
Misery was really good. His books arent really scary, just really really weird, lol.
I suggest reading The Stand. Its one of Stephen King’s best books.
greendaybjalover | Jan 24, 2010
From those you selected, I would have to pick Misery
My favorite book by Stephen King is one he cowrote with Peter Straub called The Talisman. He is a tremendous story teller and it is very easy to visualize what he writes. The main character in the novel goes on an amazing journey, unlike anything he has written before. It is very captivating.
The Crafty One | Jan 24, 2010
out of those books I would choose carrie as my favorite but my all time favorite Stephen King book would have to be the Stand. I think because it could actually happen. He wrote so many classics.I love how he can have you on the edge of your seat one moment and laughing out loud the next. I never found them "scary" but definitely entertaining.
siamvelvet72 | Jan 24, 2010
i LOVE misery! haha i swear i have read the book like three times and watched the movie too many to count. i like it cuz its not his typical scare you out of your pants stuff. then its cujo, then carrie, and i never read the girl who loved tom gordon.
my favorite one of all time is "IT" wow. that book was great. i have to say that that was the scariest one hes ever written. literally sometimes i felt like i was actually scared and my heart would start racing and i would have to put the book done cuz i got so scared. theres a nice twist in, like in all his great books.
well everyone is different, and what scares some people doesnt scare others.
have fun reading and i hope i helped !

I have read two of Stephen King’s books. I appreciate how he can take the common place and make it seem threatening. From what I have read, his situations are believable and that’s what gives the reader a gut reaction. I’ve never cared for "a dark and stormy night, populated by zombies and UFO aliens"!
I read Four Seasons many years ago – four novellas, two of which were made into movies (The Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me). I thought it was very good and apparently, Hollywood did, too. Recently, I read Dolores Claiborne – I could picture every scene, set in a small town in Maine with a lot of secrets below its mannered surface. Even happy women like to read about a woman who gets rid of her old man! That’s why there’s a TV series called "Snapped."
Melissa M | Jan 24, 2010
My favourite out of your four would probably be either Misery or Cujo – it’s very difficult to decide… I haven’t read The Girl who loved Tom Gordon, and saw the movie of Carrie before reading the book so I prefer the movie.
My favourite Stephen King ever is The Tommy-knockers. I think it’s one of his best – really chilling and yet heart-warming – and I can never stop myself crying at the end! ‘Salem’s Lot is also a good one.
I can’t remember where I read it, but I think the man himself said that he never writes purely to scare, but also to affect peoples’ emotions – fear is one he hits regularly, of course! With most of the books of his that I’ve read, I get scared but then they have me in tears by the end – Cujo among them.
Martha | Jan 24, 2010
I read the Stand and thought it was really good so I tried other Stephen King books and didn’t get into any of them.
MaidinKent | Jan 25, 2010
I loved Misery but wasn’t keen on Carrie
I would definitely recommend The Shining, The Green Mile and Cell.
I love Cell and The Green Mile because they’re stories that are believable

Exorcist 1,2, and 3. The Texas Chainsaw movies, both original and reamkes. Night of the living dead, day of the dead, land of the dead, diary of the dead, etc. 28 days later and 28 weeks later. they are my favorite horror film.

get the new halloween that just came out
and you know how everyone is redoing scary movies from
a long time ago and making them again? well you should
buy the old time ones and the remade ones..it would be
fun to see the differences in the movies.

I am personally partial to Clive Barker’s films, even when they are hokey. Lord of Illusions was good, though i’m not sure if it qualifies as horror, but hollywood places it in this category. Also consider Barker’s Nightbreed, yes, it’s silly, yes it’s very late 80’s but it’s based on a great story. John Carpenter has also done some noteworthy movies in the horror genre. You’ve already got his Halloween movies, but The Thing is truely a classic, In the Mouth of Madness is a good lovecraftian romp, and The Fog is pretty decent too.
